ATTENTION EVERYONE, EVER:
Please take a gander at the above picture. (Ignore what looks to be a moderately poor Photoshop job, and just look at that large orange contraption.)
Yes, that is a fucking spiraling trampoline net in the center of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Can you tell that I am excited?! As if I needed any more reason to love the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum!!! AHHH!!!
Contemplating the Void: Interventions in the Guggenheim MuseumInstead of contemplating the void of the Guggenheim Museum’s central space, JDS architects have proposed an experience which sees a trampoline net spiraling down the institution’s rotunda. this idea plays on frank lloyd wright’s original scenography for the guggenheim in which he envisioned patrons visiting the exhibition from the top, downwards.

This goes on from February 12th to April 28th, 2010. If you’re in New York City before April 26th, there are a multitude of exhibits I am dragging you to: in particular Tim Burton at MoMA and whatever happens to be showing at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, just because that one is my favorite museums ever. (And since I love it so much, I am also a loyal member who likes to bring new folk to experience the magic of design. For. Serious.)
